Well after selling my SC,       i picked up a 98 GS300 for my girl for $5500     it was in great shape too,       she didn't really care for  it thought it was too big for her,    but i fell in love with it and decided i had to have a GS430,  so i sold her GS and picked me up a 01 GS430 today,           incredible service record  everything from oil changes to new tires was done at the dealership for the life of the car,         very very clean and well maintained,        it's a 2001 with 129k on the clock     i love it!

didn't take any pics yet but did a quick walk around..        I was dying for a black on black, but settled for a silver on gray,  it was a good price and not to far away..

Thanks guys,       yeah i want to do a few things like just a simple catback exhaust and maybe a slight drop for now.

exodus,    at first i was looking for a sport design,     i fell in love with the sport design interior!        the place i bought my car from had a 02 gray sport design   but it was missing the floor mats    had several key marks, the engine bay was filthy   and when i carfaxed it had a inconsistent odometer reading :(                 then after test driving the 430        i fell in love with it..             even though the preforated black leather with the burlwood and sport shift on the sport design all would have been bad ass!

check out the carfax for my GS430, this is one of the reasons i had to get it..

Paco, maybe you should consider a interior swap for the sport design, I am sure you can find the parts somewhere...

Paco, maybe you should consider a interior swap for the sport design, I am sure you can find the parts somewhere...

it wouldn't be too bad an ideal down the road,     i'm sure i could sell my mint gray interior for a descent amount to make up some difference..

i'm actually pretty fond of the gray and woodgrain though,         the SD interior is just  :yahoo:

i think a sport design with a motor swap is where it's at!

I just knew since i got rid of my SC which i was going to boost around tax return,  now that i have the little family on the way  with the 430  it was a nice compromise,  i still have something that can throw me back when i mash the gas pedal  and tote the family around lol..

I'm just afraid of the 430 nickle and diming me to death,   the car seems in incredible mechanical condition  and has a very very detailed lexus service record.

I just won't have as much play money as normal with the baby on the way so if things start going wrong with the 430  it makes me nervous,        my last 3 cars have had 2jzge's  which i know plenty about and can get parts locally cheap from other 2jz friends,        the 3uzfe though  :huh1:

you know i will say this about the GS430,      i just had the 98 gs300    and it felt pretty quick for a daily,  in fact i'll go on record saying for normal driving i can't really tell much difference,
i think you could drive a GS430  and not know the difference between the GS300 ..           until you mash the pedal down all the way.                  At half throttle and just normal driving they feel pretty similar.                  When you floor it though   holy shit!

btw i just realized this is the newest car i've ever owned lol..            and it's still 8 years old!

i guess that goes with the fact that i've never had a car payment either.

Maybe you should start up with the cosmetic first then? Leave the engine to the last when you are ready to plunge into it.

I really like the 2GS SD, hopefully down the road I'll pick one up and play with it.

yeah  i got the car for a pretty good price IMO,  it has a cracked taillight  but i just ordered one to replace it,  after that she is good to go.

im reading on springs now,      i don't want full coilovers this time,  and i don't want to drop it much since the wife will drive it..        maybe some Ltuned springs i think they are only 1" drop.

i was thinking of some 18" GS350 wheels,        for now i have to keep this pretty mild             saving up money for the baby on the way still and i need a fence for my house!

looking at catback exhausts as well,           I think springs,  catback   are the only things on the list right now,  possibly wheels but  need to stick to a tight budget,  i actually like the wheels on it now i wish they where 18's.

they have some curb rash but i mean nothing crazy just from driving it around atlanta 8 years from the last owner probably  but i probably won't ask much for them..
