i had this idea from long time ago but i really didn't got into it as i was busy and kinda lazy. when we had the kbbq meet. i saw a 6th GEN camry dark gray like mine with lots of black items it look awesome(he did power coat on it). as jeff kinda wanted to do it on his vehicle also i told him i got an idea to do it cheap i still don't know the result on it but ohhh well i'll try. here we go
the front emblem was off of louis's IS350 since emblem finish was all messed up. he left it at my house and it was in my tool box so i kinda pulled it out and sand it down a little since he was messing around with it last time with some rattle can.

well since most of ppl know how to clean stuff i kinda skipped it.
for those who wants to know detail pm me i'll let you guys know.

spray thick coat as you will need to wet sand the primer a little for smooth paint application i just kinda skipped it all to see the color.

and here is the exhaust tip off of my 2GS it's thirty so there needs to be a little clean up before shoot some primer on it.

here is two dirty exhaust tip.... it's just pull of lay down on the ground and kinda pull left and right or up and down while your pulling towards you. it will slowly come off from it. when your done you will end up have 2 dirty exhaust tip like you see here.

then i found some wire brush made out of brass (i think i got this off ebay for like 30~50 piece for 20 bux or something. ) and attached on my drill 19.2 v since it's little more powerful and spins faster if you have air it's better since air grinders are faster for me it was too loud for my neighbors so i used the drill.

and here is what it looks a like when your down with it....

and i used this to clean with rag....

and it's all ready for spraying...

well after that i did sprayed primer and other stuff that i used for high temp. forgot to finish uploading yesterday as i had b-ball and my friends canceled it on me. so i return home and got really lazy so i was playing tekken6 with my brother in his room lol :hide:
let me go home tonight and finish uploading what i have.... stay tuned for flat black finish on exhaust tip.

here is the shot with first primer coat. as you can see i really didn't care how much so i kinda sprayed a lot.

after the primer dried kinda looks like flat black finish but not black enough.

and the drip~

just to remind everybody take it slowly and take your time spray it lightly but few coats and if it dries continue until you get your desired thickness.

and this is what i used for my final hightemp black. it stays on engine block so i don't think it will peel off due to temp on exhaust tip.

and i know it's kinda bad photo but this is what it looks like after it's dried

and if you are spraying new can watch out this might happen.

due to my lazyness and rushing things i messed up the emblem and one of the tip.
so i got myself 600-1000 grit sand paper to sand down the ruff area and sprayed it again.
well since it's going to rain tomorrow here in la so it will be on the car on wednesday.
stay tuned for installed look on the car.

well i just went to market and came back and as i was walkin in to my garage i just check the tip that i fixed it's already dry'd
so i fit it and kinda slap it on with my hand(w/glove on) i thought it will make some mark due to new paint. but nothing it's solid and looking good!!!!

i kinda tilt it inward so the tip lines up good with my bumper cover.

and some teaser on my SC suspension parts...chrome in prograss.

only 1 layer of test shot without chrome polish. once it's done it will be nicely refreshed upper arm with poly bushings.

I like the Blacked out emblems

but the tips kinda resemble mine that haven't been cleaned in a very long time and have build up from when the car use to run very very rich thanks to a snail under the hood, but much shinier

Personally I don't think the pictures do the black-out exhaust justice... I saw those tips on a Camry (same color as the GS above) at our last meet and they look FANTASTIC!

Excellent color choice for the tips. Looks like it would come close to matching the body color if the flash from the camera wasn't present.

Also, I don't understand what you mean when you say you tilted the tips to line up better with your bumper. Could you elaborate on that? Thanks!

As you can see in this pic, it goes with the curve of the bumper.

^^ Thanks for that. I didn't see it at first.

^ Will do. Patience is a virtue. I've been waiting really long to mod the GS. I might just get to it after spending so much time on forums. Haha.

That's my personal finances allow me to do so. I could probably do all the work myself unless it has anything transmission/engine internal related.

I'll go to you guys for sure if I need help with anything.
