Well, have been moving on my SC slowly, but am making progress when I have time.

As of right now (corresponds with pic below) I am in the process of TRYING to clean up the engine bay a little, get the GTE ecu swap finished up, complete my new FFIM and get the Q45 TB flange ordered and mounted. Also in the process of cleaning up the interior, re-routing some of my i/c pipes, and getting ready to finish the repairs and modifications to the WISE lip I have sitting in my garage. but here is how she was sitting as of 2 days ago: (also test fitting the STB that I have had for 8 months)

Once this is done, I will be gathering parts for the 5-speed conversion, 2.0mm HG, GTE valve covers, COP conversion, EBC, and larger injectors and possibly a ME2 and hopefully hit 400+rwhp before December. Also getting ready to buy another TIG welder and start making a new turbo manifold, and ANOTHER ffim design, 2 actually and one may possibly have some RB ITB's integrated...but thats later on.

What are your end goals? I think 2.0mm is a bit thick for the 400 horse range.

400 will just be another one of my mid-points till I get bigger injectors and pair the GTE ecu with a ME2. Ultimately I would like around 550rwhp..you think a 1.6mm would be better?

You know... I thought there were several people running 1.3mm at 550 horse, but I can't seem to back that up! I think you should prolly stick with 2.0mm for 450+ based on what I found. In other words - totally ignore me.

lol, ok. I have seen some pushing 450+ on 1.6mm, but very few, but would rather play it safe and have to up the boost to compensate. but when the time comes, we will see what happens

I need a FFIM... I have a Holset I'd like to use, since I melted the turbine on my T-61. The hot side hits the throttle body.

Oh tell me about it. hopefully after the weekend I will have it cleaned up a bit.

I will be making manifolds as soon as I get my new TIG in. And unlike some FFIM's for the GE, I wont be charging $600+ for just a few pieces of aluminum. I will be including Q45 TB's, velocity stacks (optional cause they are expensive), flow charts if possible, TPS adapters already installed, and will have them either bolted or welded to the stock lower runners that will be ported. Its going to be a little while before the first few are for sale, but I have already started making one (not the one pictured above) with a borrowed TIG, and so far seems to be working nicely. So keep an eye out

My brother has a TIG and mad skill. I just don't want to bug him - but I may have to. Damn economy...

I would go FFIM asap. It really cleans up the bay, makes things MUCH easier to work on, and then GTE valve covers to add the final touch

I just found out the gunsmith I do side work for has a TIG. Time to learn! Woohoo!

Is there a problem keeping the stock throttle body - or do people just run the Q45 for better flow?

You can stick with the stock TB, especially if your fabbing your FFIM, makes it that much easier..and I might have an extra stock upper intake that I can cut the stock TB flange off for you and just pay shipping that way you can keep your complete stock intake.

Although the Q45 TB is a significant upgrade. I look at the stock TB now, and wonder how even 9psi flowed through it.

And TIG welding is easy to learn. #1 mistake most people make, is they touch the tungsten to the welding surface, or they simply get the arc too hot.

I think everyone is in to guns these days..I know my collection has grown just a little.

Dude... I would love to get that entire intake from you - I just gave one away 2 months ago. Stupid stupid stupid! As far as the guns... yeah, I like guns. I'll start a new thread in the off topic for that one. Might be fun.

you want the entire intake, or just the TB flange?
