Ordered my LS1/T56 from a 2001 WS6 T/A today with 63k miles on it, along with some more things to aid in a bit more power.

Here is a small list of whats been ordered so far:

CompCams Thumpr cam 219/233@.553/.536
CompCams 1.10 Beehive springs
CompCams 7955 pushrods
Hooker 2312 block-hugger shorties
Exedy Gripforce clutch/lightened flywheel
RA polished valve covers(tall)
SCP Corvette twin intake system, will be modified later to take 2- 4'' K&N filters

Whats left to order:

Dakota Digital tach/speedo translators
Koyo or Mishimoto aluminum radiator with fans and shroud
OEM SC300 5-speed pedal set
Clutch master cylinder
custom lines
LS400 BBK
3'' pipe
X-Pipe with free flow cats
Single chamber flow-masters or SLP exhaust
DSS one piece aluminum drivshaft
LS6 ported intake, will be replaced later with a Weiland or APS intake with a 90mm TB for boost

Local shop here in Houston is going to be tackling the mounts for me, and the custom oil pan for much cheaper than DGR and their fabrication skills are excellent. Will be keeping the stock 2JZ-GE ecu and partial harness in-place to handle the accessories such as a/c, and only power where needed to operate the LS1. So far the tab is at $5900, and Im estimating close to $7500 for everything in and driving including dyno time for the cam, which should yield 410+ rwhp.

As soon as things start to come in, I will be posting pics.

Slight change in plans. Ordered my DGR mounts this morning, and set the cam/pushrods/valve springs aside after picking up a set of LS6 heads that I am going to have ported, and built to the max. So for now, it will be a stock block/head/cam LS1 with some pretty shiny things on it.

So just a couple more things to order, engine should be in the car the second or third week of Dec., and should be getting the headers in a few days, just waiting for the delivery. Then its time to start making the rest of the exhaust.

Actually I am test fitting them at the moment. Only issue I see right now, is the passenger side has (and I kid you not) 1.8'' between the lower flange and the back-side of the starter, so Im going to fab up a heat shield when it comes time to make the exhaust.

And just to keep things up to date, a couple pics of the engine/trans:

Nope. DGR Fabrication decided to take 2 weeks before shipping my mounts..

SOOO, the mounts wont be in till Friday, and Friday night taking the wife out for her B-Day, recovery Saturday, finish moving/unpakcing on Sunday. Then starting first thing Monday the 20th, I will be un-bolting the crossmember, installing mounts, and get the engine in the car, mod the crossmember to clear the pan, then end the day with some more drinking.

If all goes well, I should have the engine wired in and running by Christmas, but still need to order the drive-shaft and a few other odds and ends. But DGR really killed my original time line, but I WILL have the car on the road by TX2K11, and if the LS6 heads are ready and installed along with the cam, the car will be on the dyno there.

Horribly busy, but not too bad, and thanks for the offer. Good thing I have my nephew here to lend a hand.

As for updates, more pictures this week. The DGR mounts FINALLY showed up yesterday, so they will be put on tonight or tomorrow, and the car will be prepped for the engine and test fitted this week. So lots of pictures, and info coming soon.

Well guys here it is. Took some work, some foul words, 2 people (my nephew was a HUGE help), and a hammer, but it worked. I will upload more pics tomorrow. I have a horrible headache, and the computer screen isnt helping.

DGR mounts, both sides:

I can finally use the STB that I have had for over a year sitting in my garage:

Working on getting the harnesses to know each other. Only 5 plugs to mess with on the LSX harness, and so far a total count of 10 wires to splice to the GE harness to simplify the 12v switched connections, ground and a/c control. Not to bad, and fairly easy to work with.

I will be taking the body connectors from the GE harness and applying them to the LSX harness with a simple re-pin of each needed wire. Thus basically making it a plug-and-play harness so when the time comes for the cam install, if I pull the engine it will be very simple, and allow the stock GE harness and ecu to stay in the car, and only need to disconnect 4 wires/plugs:thumbup:

90% of the wires from the GE harness will be eliminated, yay!!

Im going to try and keep track of what I do here incase someone follows along with my build and needs assistance with the harness.

More to come soon. I should have the harness finished by tonight, and if all goes well, the car will be started this weekend.

Almost finished:

Just need to clip, extend and swap some plugs, and it will be 100% plug-n-play!! So I will be finishing the harness tomorrow, getting it routed through the bay, hooking up fuel lines, then finish up the passenger side header modifications, and get it ready to fire up.
