I've heard about SCCA before and actually checked out their website. Looks like a well run organization for the real hardcore enthusiasts, aka the track junkies.

One day I would love to become a member and have my own dedicated track car (a gutted E46 M3...) but right now I just don't have the time and money.

I was a member for a few years...did a few auto-x's and it was fun but there is a limited number of events around here so it didn't seem worth it to me.  It's a big thing with the Porsche guys and there seem to be a lot of Miata and Beemer guys too.  I have to say, I've never seen a Lexus at any of the events around here but there's always a first!

I drove my 86 Porsche 944.  I ran Mid-America once and the auto-x's were held at various parking lots.

Yep, 160hp (factory rated but reality is about 135), 4 banger.  A fun and agile little car that I traded for my SC400.
