Hold on Kevin, are you going to paint it yourself?

Well... the question I would ask is... Are you planning on keep those rims for a long time or it's just temporary until you find something better?

If it's the former then I suggest you to get it done professionally because you just don't want to take the chance that it might be pealing off in the near future. If it's the later then I say by all means and save up the money for the new set of rims.

thanks Louis.

No problem.

By the way, are those rims stock? If so then I say you are probably better off getting a different set.

That's a nice looking wheel, you just can't get wrong with the basic 5-spoke design.

Personally I like it the way it is, all you need is spacers... Like me...

Gunmetal would look good though.

Good question...I have no idea what it would cost (ball park) to have a set of old rims powder-coated. I've got a set that are in dire need of refinishing, but the $64,000 dollar question is: would it cost more to have them refinished than it would to buy new ones?   :confused1:

get yourself an old electric oven from craigslist for $20, get this and have a go on a Saturday afternoon.  Cheap and works well (besides the cup lock knob which has a tendancy to break but duct tape fixes that).

Hey great idea schwarz! I have a buddy I house-sit for every once in a while. So, when they are away I could use THEIR oven and save myself having to buy a second one just to do my rims! What they don't know won't hurt me, right?  LOL    :smoking:
