I am trying to find the location of the ECU in my SC400. Also, what are some good stand alone ECU's for this vehicle?

Can't help you on the stand alone, but I have to say... If you have to ask where your ECU is, then why are you interested in a stand alone?

The ECU is under the carpet where the passenger's feet rest. You'll need a 10mm socket to remove the plastic cover, then unbolt the ECU.

Well I'm new to the Lexus. I was stuck with it on a deal gone south, but since I have it now....I'm going to build it up....That's what I do! I have been information seeking so I have all the knowledge I need to make this build go smoothly.  I was told by Lexus that I needed a new ECU, but Lexus wants $1060.00 for it. For that price I can get a whole front clip from another lexus. As in the stand alone...with the build I plan on doing I know I'm going to need a serious upgrade so that's for the finished product, the replaced ecu now is just to get the car running now.  Thnks for the help though.

What are your hp goals? Are you going to stick with the V8? If so, you may want to get in touch with RedPhoenix. He can hook you up with a manual trans swap kit which is a huge upgrade right off the bat.

For the ECU, contact gazi_ali@hotmail.com. He is an excellent source for used Lexus parts and his prices are the best. I have bought lots and lots of stuff from him over the years between my SC300, SC400, and GS300.

Jeez, I sound like a vendor... Good luck, keep us posted.
